The pickguards mount to the center part of the body with a bracket that attaches to the side of the guitar one of the bracket styles attaches to the pickguard with a screw you can see ( Like a Les Paul) the other bracket style uses a threaded rod & a small block on the back of the pickguard ( Like a 335).these are more complicated to install we do not glue the block to the back of the pickuard so you can match the angle to the screw hole in the side of the body.
